Welcome to the 3rd HBM-PT | Workshop on Human BioMonitoring in Portugal

The Portuguese National Hub for Human Biomonitoring (HBM NH-PT), established within the framework of the HBM4EU Initiative, welcomes you to the 3rd Workshop on Human BioMonitoring in Portugal (3rd HBM-PT). This year's edition will be fully virtual and it will take place on 18 November 2020. The official language of the workshop is English.

 

The 3rd HBM-PT is focused on risk assessment and aims to: 

  • promote knowledge exchange on the use of human biomonitoring for chemical risk assessment;

  • bring together stakeholders, researchers, and regulators to discuss the role of human biomonitoring in chemical risk assessment, as well as the contributions of human biomonitoring to the definition of risk management actions and policies in human and environmental health;

  • disseminate up-to-date knowledge created within the HBM4EU Initiative, as well as recent activities highlighting the most relevant science to policy actions achieved so far. ​

 

The Scientific and Organizing Committees are pleased to invite everyone interested in human biomonitoring to participate in the 3rd HBM-PT. The main subjects to be addressed are:

  • Risk assessment using human biomonitoring data

  • Chemical exposure and human health effects

  • Influence of changing environment in human exposure to chemicals

  • Integration of human and environmental monitoring data

  • Translation of human biomonitoring data into regulatory actions on human and environmental health

The following institutions are part of the Portuguese National Hub for Human Biomonitoring (HBM NH-PT): Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P. (FCT), Instituto Nacional de Saúde Dr. Ricardo Jorge, I.P. (INSA), Direção-Geral da Saúde (DGS), Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente, I.P. (APA), Faculdade de Medicina da  Universidade de Lisboa (FMUL) and Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Lisboa (ESTeSL) do Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa.
